Bill Foley

William Patrick 'Bill' Foley II is an American billionaire businessman and former attorney, best known as the chairman of Paysafe Limited, a leading payments platform specializing in online gambling transactions. He founded Fidelity National Financial (FNF) in 1984 and served as its CEO for decades, building it into a Fortune 500 company. Foley's deep involvement in iGaming extends beyond Paysafe; he orchestrated the SPAC merger that took Wynn Interactive public in 2021 and has been a major investor in sports betting infrastructure.

Foley's iGaming footprint is anchored by his role as chairman of Paysafe, a position he assumed in 2021 following the $9 billion merger with his SPAC, Foley Trasimene Acquisition Corp. II. Paysafe processes payments for major online casinos, sportsbooks, and iGaming operators such as William Hill, DraftKings, and Caesars Interactive Entertainment. His influence also includes the Austerlitz SPAC that partnered with Wynn Resorts for the digital gaming venture, cementing his status as a key figure at the intersection of sports, entertainment, and online gambling.

Beyond iGaming, Foley owns the Vegas Golden Knights of the NHL, a team he brought to Las Vegas as part of an expansion franchise awarded in 2016. He also leads a consortium that owns AFC Bournemouth in the English Premier League and other football clubs through Black Knight Football Club. His business empire includes Foley Entertainment Group (formed in 2021), which manages his sports, hospitality, and wine assets, as well as Foley Family Wines (a top U.S. luxury wine producer), Glacier Restaurant Group, and Whitefish Mountain Resort in Montana.

Foley graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a B.S. in 1967, served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force, earned a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in 1974, and holds an MBA from Seattle University. He and his wife Carol are active philanthropists through the Foley Family Charitable Foundation, the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, and the Folded Flag Foundation, supporting veterans, education, and community causes.
