Alain Maisonneuve

Alain Maisonneuve served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), the Crown corporation that regulates and operates gambling, liquor, and cannabis in Alberta. He oversaw the 2020 launch of PlayAlberta.ca, the province’s first legal online casino, and was responsible for implementing responsible gambling initiatives.

Prior to becoming CEO, Maisonneuve held the role of Vice President, Liquor Services at the AGLC, where he contributed to the regulation of Alberta's liquor industry. After more than three decades with the organization, he was removed from his CEO position in November of an undisclosed year, with no official reason given by the commission.

Maisonneuve co-authored the AGLC’s 2019–20 annual report alongside board chair Len Rhodes. His tenure spanned a period of significant change in Alberta’s gaming, liquor, and cannabis sectors.
