TaDa Gaming’s Fortune Zombie Lightning has seen a 348% lift in new players and 134% growth in returning players in Brazil, driven by a design that balances accessibility with strategic depth and resonates with younger, mobile-first audiences in the country’s maturing regulated iGaming market.
Brazil’s iGaming sector is evolving rapidly from a sleeping giant into a fiercely competitive, newly regulated arena. In this shifting landscape, fish-shooting games have emerged as a standout vertical, and TaDa Gaming, a multi-licensed provider specialising in the category, reports that its latest title Fortune Zombie Lightning is delivering exceptional retention and player engagement figures in the country.
Steven Chan, Account Manager for Brazil at TaDa Gaming, shared insights with Focus Gaming News on how the game’s design aligns with the preferences of a younger, mobile-first generation that grew up on multiplayer mobile titles. These players expect fast decision-making, progression mechanics, and visual storytelling. Regulated iGaming is now channelling that familiarity into fish-shooting, where players can choose weapons, target bosses, and manage resources in an interactive environment—while every outcome remains random and certified.
Game design balancing accessibility and depth
Fortune Zombie Lightning sits within the Zombie universe of shoot-and-win games and features a narrative progression across an apocalyptic Las Vegas. Players encounter high-value boss characters such as Infernodrac and Doomtrain, with each stage introducing new mechanics like unlockable Axe attacks, Lucky Drop bonuses, and multiplier bonus rounds. TaDa’s design philosophy emphasises “layered onboarding,” allowing newcomers to dive in via intuitive tutorials while more experienced players gradually uncover strategic depth. “This balance between accessibility and depth is what drives impressive retention,” Chan noted.
Performance data underscores sustainable engagement
The game’s Brazilian launch has yielded striking metrics: a 348% increase in new players demonstrates immediate market appeal, while a 134% growth in returning players signals sustained retention. Daily Active Users rose 158%, indicating consistent daily play rather than one-off visits, and deposits grew 137%, suggesting players continue to derive entertainment value across multiple sessions. Chan described these indicators as pointing toward “sustainable player engagement and retention.”
Strategic role in operators’ content mix
As Brazil’s regulated market matures, operators are seeking content diversity to differentiate themselves. TaDa Gaming positions fish-shooting titles as complementary to traditional casino products, creating cross-sell opportunities without cannibalising slot spend. Chan explained that both new and existing players access slots and fish-shooting games side by side. “Fortune Zombie Lightning demonstrates what can happen when interactive gameplay, cinematic presentation and carefully layered mechanics come together within a regulated framework,” he said.
Looking ahead, Chan sees fish-shooting as an increasingly valuable component of operators’ strategies, particularly for attracting digital-first audiences. The title’s strong early performance in Brazil reflects broader shifts in player behaviour toward more immersive, experiential forms of online entertainment.
