Sky River Casino Achieves Key Milestones in Hotel Tower Construction

Sky River Casino has passed several significant benchmarks in the development of its forthcoming resort hotel in Elk Grove, California, as the project transitions from groundwork to vertical building phases. The foundation pour for the West Tower was finished on June 24, using 1,500 cubic yards of concrete, following excavation, grading, and installation of reinforcing steel and formwork. Immediately thereafter, on June 25, work began on the tower’s superstructure, with crews installing columns and beams, followed by floor slabs and additional levels as the structure rises.

The East Tower’s foundation pour was completed on July 6, enabling construction to proceed simultaneously on both towers. These twin structures are part of a wider expansion that adds a 300-room hotel intended to complement the property’s existing gaming, dining, and entertainment amenities. Upon completion, the hotel is projected to be the largest in Elk Grove, also featuring a resort-style outdoor pool, a full-service spa and salon, and a versatile event and entertainment venue. The expansion further incorporates enhanced high-limit gaming areas and VIP spaces.

Tudor noted that the project offers a chance to define both the guest experience and the team that will deliver it daily, with ongoing updates promised as the vision takes shape.

Foundations for the resort’s low-rise buildings, which will house guest-facing and operational facilities, have also begun. Sky River Casino stated that visitors currently spend an average of 2.4 days in Elk Grove, with roughly 80% staying overnight, and expects the hotel project to boost the city’s accommodation supply by more than 40%. Construction will continue over the coming months as the development advances toward completion.
