The SBC Summit in Lisbon, running September 29 to October 1, will feature a dedicated Fintech track on September 29 to explore payment infrastructure, compliance, and player protection in the iGaming industry. The track will bring together industry leaders to discuss modernizing payment systems, navigating regulations, preventing fraud, and leveraging fintech for responsible gambling.

The upcoming SBC Summit in Lisbon, scheduled from September 29 to October 1, will host a specialized Fintech conference track focusing on critical aspects of payment infrastructure, regulatory adherence, and player safeguarding. This dedicated track is set for Tuesday, September 29.

Forming a key component of the broader Payment Expert Summit stage, the Fintech track will bring together operators, payment solution providers, financial technology specialists, and compliance experts. Its agenda is designed to explore strategies for modernizing payment systems, navigating complex regulatory landscapes, bolstering fraud prevention measures, enhancing digital identity verification, and leveraging fintech tools to advance responsible gambling practices.

Rasmus Sojmark, SBC's founder and CEO, highlighted the pervasive influence of financial technology. "Fintech influences almost every stage of the player journey, from how players are onboarded and verified to how operators manage compliance, prevent fraud, and support responsible gambling," he stated. Sojmark added that the evolving nature of these technologies offers operators significant opportunities to deliver quicker, more seamless, and secure player experiences while simultaneously strengthening compliance and player protection efforts. The track aims to provide practical insights directly applicable to businesses.

Several prominent sessions will address core challenges and innovations. "From Click to Cashout: Building Reliable Payment Infrastructure" will examine how operators are revamping deposit and withdrawal systems. Esteemed speakers, including Sean Spiteri (Eaton Gate Gaming), Ran Cohen (BridgerPay), Mariola de la Piedra (Grupo GELSA), and Kyle Wiltshire (TESTA), will discuss fintech's role in reducing friction and enhancing transaction performance and player experience.

Another session, "Solving Payments at Scale in Regulated Markets," will tackle the complexities of expanding payment solutions across diverse regulatory environments. Experts like Rudy Attieh (PGWay), Mark Watts (Aircash), Olga Gunchenkova (Flutter International), and Andrea McGeachin (Neosurf) are set to share insights on maintaining consistent payment experiences amidst local market demands, operational efficiency, and strict regulatory compliance.

The discussion will also delve into digital identity with "Beyond ID Checks: The New Role of Identity in Gaming." Speakers such as Vasilije Lekovic (Trustly), Antony Jordan (Oddset), and Mário Cardoso (Solverde.pt) will analyze how impending EU AML reforms are reshaping customer verification requirements and strategies for operators to enhance compliance while ensuring a smooth onboarding process.

The track culminates with "Data-Powered Responsible Gambling: Leveraging Fintech Insights," exploring fintech's contribution to player protection. Nataly Shpak (13Aff), Piotr Lisak (Q Digital Assets), and Ivan Ochoa (Grupo GELSA) will illustrate how financial data can help detect problematic gambling behaviors earlier, enabling more proactive interventions and meeting escalating regulatory expectations.

Beyond these, the Fintech track will also feature sessions on the impact of AI on financial operations, titled "From Automation to Invisible Finance: The Agentic AI Shift," and guidance on constructing flexible payment infrastructure in "Building Your Own Payment Orchestration Layer with Modular Components."

Attendees can also take advantage of dedicated networking opportunities. Smart Connect offers pre-arranged, pre-qualified meetings between operators and fintech suppliers. Additionally, the Fintech Show Floor Tour provides a guided networking experience, introducing delegates to leading fintech exhibitors and their latest solutions. The overall SBC Summit typically welcomes around 40,000 industry professionals for three days of extensive networking, exhibition access, and educational content at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa & MEO Arena.
