Resorts World New York City Adds 1,400 Slots in First-Floor Expansion

Resorts World New York City has inaugurated its newly revamped first floor, introducing 1,400 slot machines to its gaming floor. This addition raises the venue's total slot count to 3,900. The expansion comes roughly three months after the casino obtained its full gaming license, becoming the first such establishment in New York City.

The move represents the initial stage of a $5.5bn master plan. By 2030, the property is slated to feature a 350,000-square-foot gaming area equipped with 6,000 slot machines and 800 live dealer tables. Additional planned amenities include a 7,000-seat entertainment venue, 2,000 hotel rooms, and over ten acres of public green space.

Management expects the new machines to boost gross gaming revenue and generate higher tax contributions to the state. Robert DeSalvio, President of Genting Americas East, noted that the existing slots had already proven highly popular. "Since the moment we opened, our slot machines have been incredibly popular with the public, generating more than $230 million in gross gaming revenue in just 11 weeks," he said. DeSalvio added that the additional 1,400 games would allow the casino to serve more patrons and generate even more in taxes for the state.
