The New York Mets have named Novig as their exclusive prediction market partner, the first such deal in MLB. The multi-year agreement includes in-stadium branding and digital content, and builds on Novig's recent CFTC designation as a designated contract market.
The New York Mets have named Novig as their exclusive official prediction market partner, marking the first such collaboration between a Major League Baseball club and a prediction market operator. The multi-year agreement will see Novig receive in-stadium signage at Citi Field, in-game moments, broadcast branding, and dedicated digital and social content.
“Our mission is to build the home for sports trading,” said Novig Co-Founder and CEO Jacob Fortinsky. He added that teaming up with the Mets lets the company bring that vision to fans in one of the world’s top sports markets. Mets President of Business Operations Lew Sherr noted the franchise aims to “be at the forefront of things that our fans are engaged in.”
The deal builds on MLB’s broader push into prediction markets. The league previously named Polymarket as its exclusive prediction market partner and signed an information-sharing memorandum with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) covering event contract trading in baseball. Novig received MLB Authorized Prediction Market status, allowing it to work directly with clubs, use official league data, and participate in MLB’s integrity program.
For Novig, the Mets partnership is its first with a professional sports franchise. The operator secured designation as a designated contract market (DCM) from the CFTC in June, enabling it to run a federally regulated prediction market under a single regulatory framework. That status lets Novig operate across all 50 states and implement safeguards including market surveillance, protections against manipulation and insider activity, and comprehensive compliance standards.
