Maryland Casino Revenue Falls 4.7% to $157.9m in July

Maryland Lottery and Gaming reported that the state's six commercial casinos generated $157.9m in combined revenue for July 2026, a 4.7% drop from the same month a year earlier. The monthly results also mark the opening of a new fiscal year for the regulator and its licensed properties.

Casino gaming contributions totaled nearly $68.2m during July, down 3.5%, with $49.9m directed to the state's Education Trust Fund. Other distributions included $8.4m to host communities and local jurisdictions, $8m to Maryland's horse racing industry, and $1.7m to support small, minority- and women-owned businesses.

MGM National Harbor remained the state's top-earning property with just over $60.2m in revenue, but that figure represented a 12.2% year-over-year decline. Live! Casino & Hotel followed with $59.2m, a 0.8% decrease. Horseshoe Casino posted the strongest improvement among land-based venues, rising 4.5% to nearly $15.1m. Ocean Downs Casino and Hollywood Casino Perryville also recorded gains, up 2.3% to $10.5m and 2.8% to $7.8m, respectively. Rocky Gap Casino rounded out the field with $5.1m, down 0.8%.

The regulator also released June 2026 sports betting figures on July 10, showing a combined mobile and retail taxable win of $38.2m, down 17.6% year-over-year. Total wagering handle rose 29.6% to just over $523.3m. Mobile operators generated $37.9m of the taxable win, a 16.7% decrease, while retail sportsbooks saw taxable win fall 63% to $346,040.
