Konami reported Q1 fiscal year revenue of JP¥129.5bn, up 33.6% year-over-year, with growth across all segments and full-year guidance unchanged. The supplier also advanced its Japan licensing application, Carnival cruise deployment, and UAE market entry.
Konami has reported a strong start to its fiscal year, posting revenue of JP¥129.5bn ($810m) for the three months ended June 30. That figure represents a year-over-year increase of 33.6%, with the supplier also recording operating profit of JP¥45.3bn during the quarter.
The company credited growth across all of its business segments for the uptick and has chosen to hold its full-year guidance steady at JP¥505bn in revenue and JP¥143bn in operating profit.
Segment performance
Digital Entertainment remained the primary growth engine, contributing JP¥100.1bn to total revenue, a rise of 36.5% against the same period last year. The Sports segment generated JP¥12.7bn, up 5.2% year-over-year.
The fastest-growing division was Gaming & Systems, which climbed 64.9% to JP¥12.4bn, while Arcade revenue advanced 8.3% to JP¥4.3bn.
Corporate developments
The results arrive shortly after Konami submitted a manufacturer license application across all applicable categories with Japan's gaming regulator, making it the first supplier to formally apply for multiple casino licenses in the country.
During the quarter, Konami also rolled out its Synkros casino management system across all 29 Carnival Cruise Line ships, enabling onboard guests to use personalized rewards, offers, bonuses, and cashless wagering. In addition, the company secured a gaming-related vendor license in the United Arab Emirates, positioning itself ahead of the region's first integrated resort, which is slated to open in 2027.
