Interblock Appoints Kay Oswald as New CEO

2026-07-21

Interblock appoints Kay Oswald as CEO, replacing John Connelly and interim leader Bala Ganesan. Oswald brings over 25 years of cross-industry experience, most recently as CEO of KOHPA Technologies.

Interblock has named Kay Oswald as its new chief executive officer, filling the vacancy left by former CEO John Connelly, who departed in February. Oswald takes over from interim leader Bala Ganesan, who will now return to his permanent role as Managing Director at Oaktree.

Oswald brings more than 25 years of experience spanning technology, hardware, and fitness sectors. He most recently served as CEO of KOHPA Technologies, an industrial technology firm.

In his first comments as CEO, Oswald said: “This is a new Interblock, and I am honored to lead the company into its next phase of global growth.” He added that he looks forward to “delivering operational excellence and strengthening our relationship with our customers and partners in every market we serve.”

Interblock board member David Quick welcomed the appointment, stating: “Kay is a proven global operator with a track record of building disciplined, scalable businesses across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.” Quick noted that after a rigorous search, the board is confident Oswald can build on the operating platform established over the past year and capitalize on global growth opportunities.

Quick also thanked Ganesan for his interim leadership, saying: “On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Bala for his outstanding leadership as interim CEO.” He emphasized that Ganesan strengthened Interblock’s operating disciplines and execution, and will remain closely involved through his position at Oaktree.

Oswald succeeds former long-term CEO John Connelly, who held the role for approximately 11 years before stepping down earlier this year.
