ICE Barcelona 2027 to Introduce Dedicated Digital and FinTech Transformation Hall

2026-07-09

WorldGaming is launching a dedicated Digital and FinTech Transformation Hall at ICE Barcelona 2027, from January 18-20, to showcase advanced technologies like AI, data, and payments. An advisory board of industry leaders is helping shape the content and experience for this new hub, which will feature a specialized conference program.

WorldGaming has revealed plans to enhance ICE Barcelona 2027 by introducing a new dedicated space: the Digital and FinTech Transformation Hall. This addition, housed in the entirely new Hall 7, will provide a concentrated platform for cutting-edge technologies that are reshaping the global gaming sector, from January 18 to 20, 2027.

The upcoming hall aims to showcase critical systems and innovations spanning artificial intelligence, data analytics, cloud computing, cybersecurity, payment solutions, regulatory compliance, and real-time customer engagement. These areas are increasingly vital for operational effectiveness, elevating customer experiences, and fostering sustainable growth within the industry. This initiative reflects the broader industry trend where traditional gaming operations, enterprise technology, financial technology, and data management are increasingly converging.

Complementing the exhibits, the Digital and FinTech Transformation Hall will host a specialized conference agenda directly on the show floor. This program is designed to facilitate discussions among key decision-makers responsible for technological shifts across gaming businesses. Participants will have opportunities to exchange best practices, explore emerging challenges, and deliberate on the future trajectory of digital transformation in the sector.

Margaret Dunn, Portfolio Director for ICE Barcelona, articulated the rationale behind this expansion, stating, "Gaming businesses are being transformed by the same forces reshaping every major digital industry: cloud, data, AI, payments innovation, cybersecurity and real-time customer intelligence." She highlighted that these elements are now fundamental to driving growth, ensuring resilience, maintaining compliance, and enhancing the customer journey. To guarantee the new hall truly addresses industry needs, WorldGaming has assembled an advisory board featuring prominent figures from the gaming, technology, AI, product, data, and fintech sectors. This expert group plays a vital role in sculpting the show-floor conference content, refining the exhibitor offerings, and optimizing the visitor experience.

The advisory board includes notable executives such as Chris Conroy of Future Anthem, Cris Kuehl from Continent 8 Technologies, and Cristina Turbatu, a former CTO of Casumo. Further members are Elena Rousseva of Playtech Services, Iulia Bolea and Manuel Pardavila representing Microsoft, Konstantinos Papakonstantinou from Kaizen Gaming, Satty Bhens of Entain, Sergey Kastukevich from SOFTSWISS, and Yiannis Stavroulakis from Novibet. Dunn remarked on the caliber of the group, saying, "The strength of the advisory board reflects the importance of this initiative." She further emphasized their instrumental role in developing a solution-driven and commercially pertinent hall, focused on the everyday concerns of technology leaders.

WorldGaming anticipates attracting a diverse range of exhibitors for this new space. This includes both established specialists within the gaming industry and emerging innovators from the broader technology ecosystem, recognizing the increasingly intertwined nature of these fields.
