Grupo EGB Becomes First iGaming Firm Honored in IIA Brazil’s Internal Audit Campaign

Esportes Gaming Brasil (EGB) has become the first iGaming company ever recognized in the IIA May Brazil campaign, earning the IIA May Brazil 2026 Winning Company seal for its internal audit awareness initiatives during May 2026.

Esportes Gaming Brasil (EGB), the parent company of the Esportes da Sorte, Onabet and Lottu brands, has made history by becoming the first iGaming operator to earn a spot in the IIA May Brazil campaign, organized by the Institute of Internal Auditors of Brazil (IIA Brazil).

At a ceremony held on 23 July, the group received the IIA May Brazil 2026 Winning Company seal, accompanied by a trophy and a certificate. The campaign, which ran throughout May—International Internal Audit Awareness Month—aimed to highlight the value of Internal Audit functions, counter common myths, and demonstrate their contribution to governance, risk management, internal controls, and strategic decision-making.

EGB was one of roughly 100 leading organizations recognized in the 2026 edition, alongside prominent names such as Petrobras, Banco Bradesco, Grupo Mateus, Vale, and companies within the Caixa ecosystem. No other iGaming firm had previously featured in the list.

Carol Luna, Head of Compliance at Esportes Gaming Brasil, commented: “Being the first iGaming company recognised in the IIA May Brazil campaign is a significant milestone for both our group and the wider industry.” She added that regulation has driven a new professionalism where “growth, innovation and efficiency must go hand in hand with strong governance, integrity and the ability to anticipate risk.”

To qualify for the campaign, organizations had to meet several conditions: publishing at least four original posts on their official social media channels and conducting at least two internal or external activities, such as webinars, presentations, or training sessions. All evidence had to be submitted to IIA Brazil for evaluation by a panel that assessed content quality, relevance, creativity, originality, reach, engagement, and the variety of initiatives.

EGB successfully fulfilled every requirement during May. Its activities included educational videos explaining Internal Audit’s role, a series debunking common misconceptions, and content tracking the creation of its own new Internal Audit function. The company also hosted the Audit EGB Webinar, an open discussion broadcast to employees that explored Internal Audit’s strategic importance in the iGaming sector. Additionally, an in-person training program was held for professionals working in the second and third lines of defense, bringing together staff from Internal Audit, Quality, Compliance, and Monitoring.

Luna further noted: “It is a strategic partner that transforms information into meaningful insights, drives continuous improvement and helps the business build more efficient processes and stronger controls.”

The award ceremony took place after the 2026 Chief Audit Executives (CAE) Meeting, where Internal Audit leaders from organizations across Brazil discussed emerging trends and challenges in the profession.
