Ground Broken on Janu Al Marjan Island Hotel and Residences in Ras Al Khaimah

A ceremony marking the official start of construction for Janu Al Marjan Island was held in Ras Al Khaimah, bringing together representatives from Marjan, Wynn Resorts, the Aman Group, and other stakeholders. The project is set to elevate the hospitality landscape around what is becoming the UAE's flagship integrated gaming resort destination.

Scheduled for completion in 2029, Janu Al Marjan Island will feature a luxury hotel, branded residences, and a range of wellness-oriented amenities. Singapore-based architecture firm SCDA Architects is leading the design of the development.

The property will sit adjacent to Wynn Al Marjan Island, the emirate's first integrated gaming resort, which is currently under construction. The proximity of the two projects is expected to create synergies, allowing guests and residents of each to benefit from the other's offerings.

Max Tappeiner, President of Wynn Al Marjan Island, described the Janu property as a natural complement to the integrated resort, noting that its hospitality concept would add a new dimension to the broader destination.

This marks the second joint venture between Wynn Resorts and Marjan, the master developer of Al Marjan Island, as investment continues to flow into the waterfront area. For Marjan, the development is part of a broader push to draw international hospitality brands and capital to Ras Al Khaimah while broadening the emirate's tourism base.

Janu is a sibling brand of the luxury hospitality group Aman, and its debut in Ras Al Khaimah comes as the surrounding region undergoes rapid transformation ahead of the Wynn resort's opening, which is expected to establish the emirate as a new gaming and tourism hub in the Middle East.
