The Golden Nugget Las Vegas has moved its poker room to a new location near the Chart House restaurant and the Rush Tower lobby, officially reopening downtown's sole dedicated poker venue. The room began welcoming players in early July, with a formal grand opening celebration set for July 28 that will include a ribbon-cutting, champagne, hors d'oeuvres, and commemorative gift bags. Attendees can also enter a drawing for a seat in the 2027 Grand Poker Series.
The redesigned space accommodates up to 63 players across nine tables and features upgraded furnishings, built-in mobile device charging stations at every seat, and streamlined food and beverage service that allows players to order refreshments without leaving the table. The new location offers easier access from the self-parking garage and rideshare pickup area, with parking validation available for guests.
The move replaces the property's former poker room near the casino floor and high-limit slots area. That space is slated to become a new high-limit slots salon, while the previous high-limit slots area will be repurposed for table games. A temporary high-limit slots zone has been set up near Bar 46 off Fremont Street. The relocated room remains downtown's only poker room, giving it a unique niche in a market where many Las Vegas poker rooms have closed or consolidated in recent years.

The Golden Nugget is known for its affordable $1-$2 uncapped no-limit hold'em games that run daily, often with massive stacks that can exceed $1,000. The uncapped buy-in structure allows recreational players to buy in for as little as $100, while whales can sit with racks of high-denomination chips. This setup creates a game that plays larger than typical low-stakes tables, drawing players seeking a more casual but high-action experience. The room also runs daily tournaments, player promotions, and a $100,000 Bad Beat Jackpot triggered when an Aces full of Kings hand or better is beaten.

Despite the shrinking number of rooms in Nevada, demand has remained steady, leading to revenue growth for remaining venues. The Golden Nugget's relocation signals commitment to its downtown position, especially after hosting its summer Grand Poker Series from early June to late June.
