FanDuel Canada is poised to expand its operations into Alberta, introducing its Casino and Sportsbook platform on July 13, pending final regulatory green light. This strategic move marks the fourth Canadian province where the operator will establish a presence. Alberta residents aged 18 and older can already register for accounts at FanDuel.ca, gaining access to educational resources like Casino 101 and Sports Betting 101, alongside tools promoting responsible gaming.
Dale Hooper, General Manager of FanDuel Canada, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming launch. He stated, "Alberta represents an exciting new chapter for FanDuel Canada, and we look forward to the opportunity to bring our industry-leading Casino and Sportsbook experience to players across the province." Hooper further emphasized the company's dedication to providing a top-tier entertainment experience and fostering meaningful community engagement as it enters this new market.
Strategic Partnerships Bolster Market Entry
In conjunction with its Alberta debut, FanDuel Canada has reaffirmed and expanded several key partnerships. The company renewed its multi-year agreement with the Canadian Football League (CFL), extending its market reach into Alberta and integrating a casino category alongside its existing sportsbook collaboration. This renewed partnership also highlights the 113th Grey Cup, scheduled for November 15, 2026, at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. Furthermore, FanDuel Canada has secured an exclusive arrangement with Light & Wonder to introduce the Huff N' Puff slot franchise to Alberta's players, subject to regulatory approval.
Community and Charitable Initiatives
FanDuel Canada is also reinforcing its commitment to community support within Alberta through various initiatives. The company holds the title sponsorship for the Cowboys Stampede Showdown Charity Poker Tournament, which benefits the Calgary Stampede Foundation. This tournament has collectively raised more than $1.3 million for the foundation, with the 2026 event setting a new record by generating $260,000.
Beyond partnerships, FanDuel is making direct financial contributions to local causes. The company will donate $50,000 to the A Dollar A Day Foundation, supporting mental health initiatives across Alberta. This adds to the $150,000 FanDuel has contributed to the foundation over the past three years for programs in both Ontario and Alberta. Additionally, the operator plans to donate $30,000 to the Canadian Red Cross Emergency Management Program in Alberta, earmarked for efforts in disaster preparedness and community recovery.
