EGT’s Bell Link 1 Swiss Jackpot 2.0 crowns first two millionaires in Switzerland

Less than a month after going live, the Swiss Jackpot 2.0 Edition of EGT’s Bell Link 1 has produced its first two millionaires. The nationwide progressive jackpot was switched on at the end of June across 15 gaming establishments, connecting 108 machines operated by different casino groups under the Swiss Jackpot Organization.

Participating venues include Swiss Casinos Holding AG’s casinos in Zürich, St. Gallen, Winterthur and Pfäffikon; Groupe Barrière Suisse’s Montreux, Fribourg and Courrendlin properties; Stadtcasino Baden AG’s casinos in Baden and Locarno; and Groupe Tranchant’s Basel casino, which will add its new Prilly gaming hall later this year. Grand Casino Luzern, Grand Casino Bern, Casinò Lugano, Casino Bad Ragaz and Casino Interlaken round out the network.

First jackpot hits

A week after launch, a player at Swiss Casino Zürich became the first millionaire, taking home CHF 1,712,996.47. Two weeks later, the second Grand Hit landed at Grand Casino Basel, where a visitor won CHF 1,042,919.81.

To be in with a chance, players place bets between CHF 1 and CHF 25. Three red Grand Bells trigger the top prize, while a single green Major Bell awards the local in-house jackpot, which starts at CHF 2,500. The package also includes line wins and EGT’s popular Bell Link Hold & Respin feature.

Built for the Swiss market

Swiss Jackpot 2.0 was developed to meet the country’s specific gaming regulations. Marking a first for EGT in its more than 20-year history, the Bulgarian company built an operating system that enables SAS-controlled jackpots to run through operators’ casino management systems instead of solely through EGT’s own jackpot controllers.

Emilia Tomachinska, managing director of E-Systems GmbH, EGT’s distributor for German-speaking Europe, thanked the decision makers at all 15 casinos for selecting the product and acknowledged the technicians who handled implementation. She also credited Swiss Casinos Holding AG, as operational headquarters of the Swiss Jackpot Organization, with carrying the bulk of planning, coordination and testing, and thanked DRGT for supplying the casino management system that powers the jackpot engine and feeds the LED jackpot displays.

Tomachinska added that delivering custom jackpot maths for Switzerland on schedule reflects EGT’s commitment to client-focused solutions, and wished casino guests across the country exciting moments with the Swiss Jackpot 2.0 Edition of Bell Link 1.
