DraftKings and Delta Air Lines launch free-to-play in-flight sports contest SkyPicks

DraftKings has teamed up with Delta Air Lines to introduce SkyPicks, a free-to-play sports contest available exclusively on Delta flights within the US. The offering is open to users who are registered with both the DraftKings sportsbook and Delta’s SkyMiles loyalty program.

Entries for each SkyPicks contest can only be submitted while connected to Delta’s complimentary onboard Wi-Fi. Once a player has entered, they can manage their picks even after the flight has ended, according to the operator.

“At DraftKings, we believe interaction with sports shouldn't begin and end with the game itself – it should extend to every moment fans care about,” said DraftKings CCO Jeremy Elbaum. The contest asks participants a series of sports-related questions—such as which team will win, who scores first, and a final-score tiebreaker—with Delta gift card prizes on offer. Fresh SkyPicks contests will be provided “several times” each week, giving frequent flyers multiple opportunities to play.

Delta CMO Ranjan Goswami noted that the initiative aims to connect the in-flight experience with customers’ ground-level passions. “SkyPicks brings that passion onboard in a fun, free-to-play way,” he said. After the flight, eligible users receive a link to track their leaderboard status.

In separate iGaming news, DraftKings Casino has launched Aristocrat Gaming’s Lightning Link slot title for players in Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ontario. The operator also partnered with influencer Brian Christopher, who will create educational gameplay content and integrate custom widgets into the DraftKings platform.
