Baton Lock & Hardware Co Inc traces its origins to 1973 when Shin Shyu Enterprise Co Ltd was founded in Taiwan. The US entity was incorporated in 1983 to serve the North and South American markets, acting as a service center with a focus on rapid product development and flexible assembly. In 1992, Baton entered Europe by taking over Regia Company in the UK, reorganized as Baton Lock Limited in 1995. Further expansion followed in 1994 with the formation of Fu Wang Lock & Hardware Co in Haining, China, which grew to 6,500 square meters and achieved ISO 9001 certification. In 1998, Baton Security Products Co was spun off to focus on decorative door hardware for North America. More recently, Baton established Baton Europe SL with a 5,000-square-meter facility in Asausa, Spain, serving Europe, the UK, and Africa.

Products & Markets

Baton offers a broad product line: mortise door locks for commercial and residential use, low-profile deadbolts, tubular latches, European profile cylinders, rim cylinders, key-in-knob cylinders, and decorative hardware under the Baton Security Products brand. Specialty locks include medium- to high-security “Maxi” locks for casino slot machines, gaming equipment, vending machines, and payphones. The company’s European profile mortise locks meet DIN 18251, EN 12209, EN 179, and EN 1634 standards. Baton serves locksmiths, builders, self-storage operators, hardware retailers, and gaming/casino firms, and participates in the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas.

Operations & Facilities

The US headquarters at 14275 Commerce Drive, Garden Grove, CA 92843, maintains warehouse inventories for rapid fulfillment. Regional support is provided by Baton Lock Limited in the UK and Baton Europe SL in Spain. The parent Shin Shyu Group continues operations in Taiwan, while the China facility handles cost-competitive manufacturing under ISO 9001. The US entity employs between 11 and 50 people, though the global workforce is larger.
