History & Milestones

BAM Software and Services LLC was formed in early 2007 by a team of experienced gaming executives and software developers. The initial vision was to create a turnkey, self‑service platform that would allow licensed operators to offer real‑money pari‑mutuel wagering without the overhead of building proprietary technology. The first iteration of the BAM Interactive Platform went live in 2008 for Lien Games Racing LLC, the licensed off‑track betting system behind BetAmerica.com.

Over the next decade, BAM expanded its platform to support both horse and greyhound racing, integrating with handicapping data providers, totalizator systems for pool management, video streaming partners, payment processors, and real‑time geolocation and age‑verification services. The company established agreements with over 300 racetracks in the United States and internationally, ensuring that operators using the BAM platform could offer a comprehensive race schedule with commingled wagering pools.

Products & Platforms

BAM Interactive Platform – The core SaaS and white‑label platform that provides a complete back‑end for real‑money pari‑mutuel wagering. It includes account management, wagering engine, live streaming, handicapping data, regulatory compliance tools, and integration with multiple totalizator and payment partners.

BetAmerica.com – The flagship ADW site launched in 2008, offering horse and greyhound racing wagering to customers across licensed US jurisdictions. It became the fourth‑largest ADW in the US, handling $126.8 million in handle by 2016. It was sold to Churchill Downs in 2017.

TrackInfo.com – A racing information portal providing handicapping data, race results, and streaming video.

OnlineRacing.TV – A live streaming service for horse and greyhound races.

Race Bet Win (iOS app) – A mobile gaming app published under BAM’s Apple developer account.

Business Model & Customers

BAM served licensed ADW operators, off‑track betting systems, and racetracks seeking to launch or enhance their online wagering presence. The BAM Interactive Platform was offered on a plug‑and‑play, self‑service basis with no upfront infrastructure costs to clients. This allowed smaller operators to enter the online pari‑mutuel market without heavy investment.

Sale to Churchill Downs

In April 2017, BAM Software and Services sold the BAM Interactive Platform and BetAmerica.com to Churchill Downs Incorporated for an undisclosed sum. The transaction allowed Churchill to strengthen its online racing and gaming portfolio. After the sale, the BAM brand was effectively wound down; the founders formed Potent Systems to pursue new mobile gaming opportunities based on pari‑mutuel mechanics.

Current Status

BAM Software and Services LLC no longer operates as an independent provider. Its intellectual property and key assets were transferred to Churchill Downs. The company’s website is no longer active, and the LinkedIn page describes it as a past entity. The former founders continue to work in the pari‑mutuel space through Potent Systems.
