  The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC), commonly known as the CT Lottery, is the official state-licensed lottery operator for Connecticut. Established by legislation in June 1971 and selling its first tickets on February 15, 1972, it was the fourth lottery in the United States. Originally a state agency, it was reorganized as a quasi-public corporation on July 1, 1996, to operate with greater business agility. Headquartered in Wallingford, Connecticut, the CT Lottery offers a mix of in-house draw games (Play3, Play4, Cash5, Lotto!), multi-state games (Mega Millions, Powerball), instant scratch-off tickets, Fast Play games, and an online iLottery platform. It also runs retail and mobile sports betting in partnership with Fanatics Betting & Gaming. Over its history, the lottery has contributed more than $12 billion to Connecticut’s General Fund, with a record $362 million transferred in fiscal year 2025 alone. The CT Lottery is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Governor and is a member of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries.

  Ohio Lottery Commission

  The Ohio Lottery Commission is the state-government entity responsible for operating legal lottery games in Ohio. Established by voter approval in 1973 and launching its first game, Buckeye 300, in 1974, the Commission’s mission is to generate revenue for Ohio’s public schools through the Lottery Profits Education Fund. Over five decades, it has evolved from a single instant-ticket game to a diversified portfolio including draw games, keno, instant-play electronic tickets, and multi-state jackpots such as Mega Millions and Powerball. In FY2025, scratch-off sales alone exceeded $2.4 billion, and total transfers to education were estimated at nearly $2.9 billion for the FY2026-FY2027 biennium. The Commission funds responsible-gaming initiatives like WellPlayed Ohio and operates the long-running Cash Explosion TV show. Its retailer network spans thousands of outlets across the state, and the agency employs approximately 225 staff based primarily in Cleveland. Governed by a nine-member advisory Commission appointed by the Governor and led by a Director, the Ohio Lottery is funded entirely through ticket sales, receiving no tax-dollar appropriations.

  Massachusetts State Lottery Commission

  The Massachusetts State Lottery Commission (MSLC) is the state agency responsible for operating all legal lottery games in Massachusetts. Established in 1971 and selling its first ticket in 1972, the Lottery was created to generate local aid revenue for the state's 351 cities and towns without raising taxes. Over five decades, it has returned more than $149 billion to the Commonwealth, with net profits distributed annually to municipalities. The MSLC offers a portfolio of draw games including Powerball, Mega Millions, Megabucks, Mass Cash, The Numbers Game, Keno, and a wide variety of scratch tickets. In fiscal year 2025, the Lottery achieved a record net profit of approximately $1.067 billion. A landmark development in 2025 was the award of its first iLottery contract to Aristocrat Interactive, with online sales set to launch in July 2026. The MSLC operates through a network of over 7,000 retail agents across the state and is governed by a five-member commission chaired by the State Treasurer.
